  • The Union Government so far has awarded Rs. 60.9 crore as prize money to over 3.81 lakh consumers and 21,000 merchants under its two lucky draw schemes – Lucky Grahak Yojana and Digi-Dhan Vyapar Yojana. The winners included small farmers, anganwadi workers, housewives and labourers and most of the winners were in the age group of 21-30 years. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka have emerged as the top five states with the maximum number of winners
  • Government has notified that Co-operative Banks are not authorised to accept deposits under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Deposit Scheme (PMGKDS).  The deposits under this scheme can be accepted any banks to which the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 (10 of 1949) applies.
  • Indian Navy’s largest warship of the, INS Vikramditya became the first warship to be equipped with its own dedicated ATM (Automated Teller Machine). The ATM onboard of the ship will be provided by India’s largest public sector bank State Bank of India (SBI).
  • The Union Ministry of AYUSH and Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) have signed a Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) to co-regulate malpractices in the advertisement of AYUSH sector.

  • India and the UAE held the first meeting of their strategic dialogue in New Delhi to elevate the bilateral relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
  • Bihar government launched Nasha Mukt campaign to make the state addidction-free with formation of over 11 thousand km long human chain across the state. It is claimed to be world’s largest human chain and broke previous record of 1050km human chain formed in Bangladesh.
  • Donald Trump (70) was sworn in as the 45th President of the United States of America (USA).
  • Hong Kong, a special administrative region of China has withdrawn the visa-free facility for Indians who will have to complete a pre-arrival registration.
  • ISKCON’s Govardhan eco village located in Wada taluka in Thane district (Maharashtra) was conferred the UNWTO Award for Innovation in the category of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO). The award was presented to the village for taking innovative measures of ’sustainable tourism’ in country at the annual UN World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) Awards for Excellence and Innovation in Tourism held at Madrid in Spain on Thursday.
