  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has recently appointed Malvika Sinha as new Executive Director (ED), following the appointment of B P Kanungo as Deputy Governor.
  • The Assam government has recently started four-day long Gunotsav programme to improve quality of school education in the state from April 4, which will cover over 9 lakh students of 12320 primary schools in Barpeta, Chirang, Dibrugarh, Hailakandi, Kamrup (Metro)
  • The National Maritime Day (NMD) is celebrated every year in India on April 5 to commemorate the maiden voyage of the first Indian –owned ship “SS Loyalty” sailed from Bombay to London on 5th April 1919.
